In a country where violent clashes are taking place between armed groups, a local group leader suddenly comes face to face with a member of the opposing group. Both are wounded in the ensuing hand-to-hand encounter. The group leader manages to bind up his own wounds. He then gives rudimentary first aid to his adversary, who is hors de combat, and drags him into his house. There his comrades in arms oppose his decision, saying that as he did not leave his enemy to die, that enemy should now be executed, especially as this is the practice of the other side. If his life is spared he should at least be forced to remove the mines laid by the people on his side.
