Question 1..Discuss the role of the judge within the courtroom work group. How are Judges constrained by actions of other member of the work group? How much influence does the judge actually exert on other members of the work group? How do judges differ in the way they do their jobs? Judges have many roles in the courtroom. First, in every case’s pursuit of justice, they are impartial decision makers. The United States has a system of justice known as adversarial where the legal cases compete between two opposing sides, and the judge must ensure that legal arguments get forcefully and thoroughly presented (Metcalfe, 2016). Secondly, the judges offer an impartial and independent assessment of the facts as well as the application of the law to these facts.  Thirdly, the judge listens to almost all criminal and civil cases without a jury. He or she is the “trier of fact,” that checks the credibility of the evidence and the witnesses’ truth. Fourthly, the judges interpret the law, control the hearing as well as assess the evidence. Judges give warrants of arrest. They also determine probable cause. They give or deny bail and rule on motions…………..
