Kinsley’s Sexual Orientation Continuum
Kinsleys Sexual Orientation Continuum
The figures 5.2, 5.3, and 5.4 present interesting findings regarding sexuality and lifestyle in the United States. First, figure 5.3 presents the self-placement of respondents in the Kinsley continuum of sexuality. It is evident that most Americans are heterosexual while a minority are exclusively homosexual. The major finding, I obtained from this figure is the fact that most of the people who openly accept to be fully homosexual are young people between ages 18 and 29. This just goes to show that the younger generation is more diverse and welcomes diversity in sexuality more when compared to the older people. This is based on the societal norms today where more acceptance of alternative sexual orientations has been adopted as compared to the past where stigma was high. Also, older people are more affirmative when it comes to their sexual orientation……….
