Learner’s Journal:Entry #1

Critical self-reflection is an essential skill for both educators and learners. In this course you will practice critical reflection in the form of a “Learner’s Journal.” Maintaining your Learner’s Journal is an ongoing requirement throughout the course, and you will be graded on your participation.

Be aware that there are no right or wrong answers in your journal. The goal is to think critically about your experiences so that you may gain insight into yourself and your practice as a learner and/or educator. You should also use your Learner’s Journal to keep a running list of any vocabulary, acronyms, scholars’ names, etc. that are new to you or that you think are especially important.

Questions to consider for this week’s entry:

  1. What do know now about adult learning that you did not know last week?
  2. What do you think are some of the most important topics or issues raised this week?
  3. Which topics or themes will inform your future practice as an adult educator? Why are these important to you?
