Listening skills are central to communication because communication is the exchange of information between the speaker and listener. In the film Get Out, the communication cues are seen as important mainly because they bring out a culture and the cultural differences in the film. Furthermore, it outlines different issues evident in the plot of the film. Mostly, since the film is about racism, the listening and speaking skills are adopted from stereotypical characters of African American or Caucasian descent to show the difference in the characters. The scene chosen for this assignment is the scene whereby Chris takes a photograph of Logan and the latter attacks the former bleeding from his nose and shouts get out! Get out! In this scene, cultural differences in listening skills are seen and the communication differences highlighted. The listening skills of Chris and those of Logan are contrasted in this scene. First, Chris is introduced to the guests by his father-in-law and he is given many names, none of which he can remember. The topic that arises from this interaction is further the issue of the African American………….
