Biodiversity and its loss have been hot topics in environmental studies and discussions all along. According to Cardinale et al. (2012), the loss of biodiversity is simply the loss of genes, species, and biological traits on Earth, mostly attributed to human actions. These authors, therefore, attribute biodiversity loss to human action and blame humanity squarely for the death of biodiversity. Another definition of biodiversity loss has been advanced by Ceballos et al. (2015) who claim that biodiversity loss in the modern world can be simply referred to as the sixth mass extinction due to the loss of over 1000 species per 100 years in the recent centuries.
