OnaLukoszaite and Rudkus are young people, male and female who are immigrants from Lithuania into the United States. While in Packingtown, Chicago, they hold their wedding party which is attended by some of their relatives. These relative had immigrated to the United States with an aim of pursuing the American dream. The dream entailed better jobs, better life and access to all the basic essential needs.

The couple finds itself in Packingtown, a town that is known for its hard life. It is the town where meat packing is carried out in Chicago. It is hard to find a job in this town, making it very dangerous for human survival.
