What is the paradox that “persists” about the U.S. and Mexican immigration. The paradox that persisted between the Mexican immigrant and the U. S.is that the United States corporate capitalist economy was in dire need of cheap labor and therefore when the Mexicans migrated to the United States and offered cheap labor they were able to make more profits (Rosales, 1997). However, the same people who were happy to get cheap labor rejected and segregated the very people who offered the cheap labor. The United States citizens would not allow their children to school together with the Mexican children. They went to segregated schools. Most schools such as Texas school refused to admit almost half of the Mexican children. All Mexicans suffered racial segregation and also anti-democracy. What was Proposition 187. Proposition 187 was passed in 1994 in California, and its primary purpose was to deny the immigrants residing in the United States without legal documents or living illegally in the U.S. ineligible for public resources (Rosales, 1997). According to estimation by the California Legislative Analyst’s Office, such an endeavor would save the country over $200 million each…………
