Case Study Assignment #1: DUE SEPTEMBER 11 OR EARLIER.

Answer the following questions in order:

1) Describe, in one paragraph, the three different types of market orientations that MNC’s exhibit. (6 points)

2) Using outside research, discuss current examples of MNCs that show each of these orientations in action (15 points). (Note: discuss ONE example for EACH orientation)

3) Using specific examples from your outside research, discuss THREE actual efforts made by multinational corporations to be socially or environmentally responsible. (9 points)

4) Discuss any THREE examples of MNC’s being culturally responsive to their host countries.

(15 points) (Hint: look at the “determinants of culture” in your slides to guide your discussion).

Multinational corporations (MNC) emerge because resources are mobile than labor.The firms launch subsidiaries in different countries since raw materials and cheaper labor are readily available in those countries. A firm qualifies to be multinational firm when the parent company is owned by nationals of more than two countries. The three different types of market orientation include export stage, foreign production stage and multinational stage. Export stage includes initial inquiries which result in the first exports and also the formation of assembly operations to reduce the cost of transport (Abdallah, Wagdy & Westport 2012)……..
