This week our chapter focused on 12 step and self-help groups for recovery from addictions. Alcoholics Anonymous is probably the most widely known group but Miller and Miller (2014) also outlined some lesser known groups.

Choose a 12-step recovery (Nacotic Anonymous) group discussed in our text this week and provide a more in-depth review of the details of the group. Please use at least one peer-reviewed article There must be a minimum of 200 words for this answer

This is a non-profit organization which is perceived as a robust ground on which to develop a bright future. It is frequently termed as “non-profit fellowship” (Galanter, White & Hunter, 2019). Narcotics Anonymous developed from lowly beginnings to a global establishment without asking for a penny. Participants basically give donations and contributions, to facilitate the payment of foods and facilities, and then accomplish their role to boost the process. The volunteers hold weekly 12-step meetings, which act as sponsors for the newly admitted members, and continue with the traditions established earlier by the partnership over the last several decades………………..
