In 2015, Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin announced that Google would become “Alphabet,” a parent company over all of the company’s many divisions. Many people think that one of the biggest reasons for the restructuring is financial accounting–in other words, to please Google’s shareholders.

The Pros and Cons of the Alphabet Restructuring for the Company’s Financial Accounting
The restructuring allows the emergence of new services such as Chrome and Android which have strengthened the position of Google. The current structure has been excellent in managing an innovative company (Harding, 2015).
