As one of the world’s giant engineering conglomerates, the German-based Siemens Company manufactures a wide variety of commodities ranging from hearing aids to locomotives and power generation turbines. Its poor performance by the 2000s is attributable to the rise of global rivals such as General Electric and United Technologies. It is for this reason that the company hired Peter, the first outsider to run the company since its inception as the CEO hoping that he would uplift the status of the company.
