Research Response 1

Our work so far studying MLA Style is one part of the equation of research writing. Another part is the research itself, which is where we will turn our attention this week with the assignment below. MLA Style helps you do something with the research you have gathered, but first you have to gather it.

This assignment will ask you to try out many different research tools, so give yourself time to browse and get familiar. The assignment is very particular. I am asking to try specific types of sources and a certain number of that kind of source. For example, I might ask you to try three search engines. While it might seem repetitive at times, it is for a purpose: exposure. Exposure creates familiarity and creates opportunities for future research.
