Globalization has created a global commodity chain, which brings together various players from the manufacturing entities to the consumers. Consequently, there are numerous players in between who encompass labor provision and distributors of the manufactured commodities. One of the multinational corporations that has benefited from globalization is Nike, which manufactures sporting clothes and products related to this field. The company has acquired its competitive advantage and efficiency through efficient management of is production systems and exploitation of the less privileged laborers in the less developed nations. These aspects imply that the primary beneficiaries of globalization are the manufacturing entities that have enormous experience because of their strong bases in the developed nations. Firms with elaborate systems can move swiftly to exploit the cheap labor in the less developed nations. Also, they can identify and nurture talents to use to enhance their operations’ efficiency. The latter, in turn, allows them increase their profit margins besides benefiting from the economies of scale through mass production of goods and services. These aspects imply that not all players in the global supply chains benefit from globalization. Some players are exploited by the highly established entities, an indication that globalization has adverse effects despite providing new opportunities to business enterprises……………..
