How global organized crime diminish the capacity of states to manage their affairs. Over the years, global organized criminal networks have been expanding their activities while diversifying them at the same time. Consequently, their operations have compromised the public safety and jeopardized democracy and democratic institutions across the globe. A major impact of the organized unlawful activities is that they distort the legitimate market participations. For instance, the black market operations destabilize trade as the traders cannot determine the ideal prices of their commodities. In addition, the unlawful business activities make it difficult for the central banks to determine the ideal exchange rate of their currency with the international currencies. Consequently, the entire global demand and supply chain becomes interrupted, hence leading to the disruption of nation’s economic and business situations. These conditions undermine the operations of democratic institutions as governments rely on their economies to get the money they need for their operations. Thus, the disruption in economic activities can deny them the resources they need to sustain their democratic institutions (Mittelman, 2000). Also, organized global activities can render democratic institutions ineffective because of their policies failing to meet with the market and economic conditions……………..
