Pre-Socratic Philosophers and Socrates

The difference between Protagoras’s relativism and Socrates’s dialectic method in terms of what is assumed about nature of truth.  Protagoras use relativism method to define the nature of truth whereas Socrates utilizes dialectic method in defining the nature of truth. Protagoras used the philosophical inquires’ style that assumes that the educational function as the drawing truth from typical students and then filling up a void vessel. Protagoras assumes that morals are just like group’s or societal social traditions. (Gillespie, (1910). Whilst Socrates argues that truth is achieved through knowledge whose measure is based upon three perspectives; justice temperance and wisdom. That is, according to Socrates’ method, all things are not measured by a person. The two methods used by the two Philosophers differ in that the method used by Protagoras determines man as the all things’ measure. On the other hand, the Socrates’ method argues that man doesn’t mean all things, however, all types of goods and truth are incorporated as well as structured within knowledge. In addition, Protagoras, defines what is noble and good to be only within the opinion’s element whereas the Socrates’s method assumes moral truth to be personal. (Justin, 2015)……………..
