One of the primary lessons learned in the module is the dependence on sexual selection to determine the reproductive success of a particular male primate. Notably, the most successful males in the reproductive process are those whose qualities are especially attractive to the females within the social systems. For instance, the success of the gorillas in winning several females is dependent on the attractiveness of his size, and ability to fend off other rival males. Ultimately, his ability to provide security to the females makes him all the more attractive to the extent that the females wish to stay by his side out of the attraction to such qualities. Additionally, the lesson increased my understanding of the similarities between the chimpanzees and the human race, primarily based on the social systems and relationships therein. Notably, despite being social, the likelihood of living within one area is always dictated by various factors, which increase their chances of survival. For instance, the chimpanzees will congregate in one area whenever there is sufficient food, which is the most essential resource for the animals in such an environment. Similarly, human settlement is always based on the availability of resources, in which case it becomes scarce whenever the resources are too limited to support the entire population……….
