In programming, a list is a collection of items in a linear structure (Dixit, 2010). The term list can also be used to refer to data structures that are non-linear. A list is used for various reasons like adding, deleting or storing items. Examples of other uses of lists include inventories, calculations, storing and recording multiple values and so on.
