The board of nursing are independent state organizations under the National council of state boards of nursing (NCSBN) charged with the responsibility of regulating nursing profession among its state. BON’s develop nursing licensure examination to ensure that only qualified examined nurses are allowed to operate. On the other hand, Professional Nurses associations are organizations created by and for nurses to ensure that they have a say or influence healthcare policies, represent their interests to the government, advocate for high quality care services from nurses, while still providing continuing studies opportunities for member nurses.
