I’m taking a Seminar class and I have to write a 6 page essay about “The Relationship between Terrorism and Humanism”. Life in the world after 9/11/01 has become ethically more challenging as terrorism assumes rver greater prominence in political and religious agendas. What does the tradition of liberal humanism stand to offer and lose in the struggle against terrorism in the years ahead.
Also this essay should include these topics in relation to Terrorism
What does it mean to be good, to lead a good life
How does one reconcile self-interest with a sense of social responsibility

On 11th September, 2001, several inhumane and fiendish event occurred from the skies of Washington DC, New York and Pennsylvania. This was through the three commercial aircrafts that were commanded as well as hijacked by terrorists.  During the hijack, they were driven at very high velocity into World trade center’s twin towers in New York and then released into the Pennsylvania’s ground leading to thousand deaths of the victims. The is terrorist attack also led to devastation of thousands of families, work associates, friends, and the citizens of other nations. Within moments, fellow citizens, governments, firemen and police showed unbridle heroism and human compassion (Wilkinson, 2007). This was a good act of humanism. After that 9/11/01 event, life in the world has become ethically more challenging. This is because terrorism assumes a greater prominence in both religious and political agendas. Religious motivation for the terrorist attacks have emerged, hence, making it logical to acknowledge that there is a relationship existing between terrorism and religion. And this is a very complex relationship………………….
