Key differences between revising and editing
Editing may be viewed by many people as equivalent to revising a paper. However, after having a classroom session on the two, one is able to identify that the two are strikingly different. First, one is usually more keen and looks for specific details while editing, unlike in revising. In editing, one is usually after some certain aspects in the paper, such as grammar, while in revising, one usually looks at the consistency and how the paper relates to the topic in question.
