Description of the Case. The death of loved one or a pet is not just the type of loss that can create trauma for an individual. Separation and divorce are among the tragic events that can result in severe crises in the life of the person that wants the relationship most. It is a situation that leaves a major gap in the life of the person and that should be filled with a variety of methods to prevent the risks that are associated with the event. In the case study on separation divorce from the textbook, Eric’s decision to seek separation from Nancy before terminating the marriage created major issues in her life that required the effective intervention strategies to prevent further damages for the 30-year old woman. According to James and Gilliland (2017), prior to the announcement from Eric that he was in love with another woman, Nancy had working hard to make their relationship work by ignoring her husband’s late night outings and uncaring behavior. Also, she had to talk to him before he made his plans for a divorce known to her and even planned to have a baby as part of her strategy to fix the problems in the relationship but Eric was unwilling to change his ways or address the problems in his marriage. This decision left Nancy devastated to the point that she was filled with grief and sorrow because she blamed herself for all the failures in the marriage………….
