Social media has a lot to do with films, and it has, indeed, become the center of film marketing and especially the growth of film popularity. One such film that capitalized on social media to achieve massive success is Deadpool (2016). The superhero film released in 2016 premiered at $132.25 million on its opening weekend and all that was due to the massive use of the Internet and mostly social media avenues to advertise it (Snitker, 2016). For instance, Deadpool had an Instagram account where funny compilations and memes of the main character would be posted. Also, before the release of the film, a video was leaked online and went viral on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and other social media apps. Essentially, through the promotion and marketing of the film Deadpool, it is evident that social media and the Internet are central to film marketing in the modern society…………
