The Solomon Asch experiment is regarded as a vital experiment in the social psychology circles. It aimed to investigate the extent to which social pressure form a majority groups could influence a person to conform. However one has to wonder why the participant in the experiment conformed so readily. Also when some were interviewed after the experiment they said that they didn’t believe in their conforming answers, but had agreed with the rest of the group due to the fear of being ridiculed by the majority. Only a few of the participants believed in the answers that they gave. When the line lengths were made more similar in length making it harder to judge the correct answer then conformity increased………………
