The survey-question-read-recite-review (SQ3R) is a great reading strategy. Having applied the method of reading after the class on the same, the experience has been an eye opener on how to read and understand materials in the classroom and the library as well. It is totally different from the way I used to approach literature material as I would only read the material once and take short notes in the process. The SQ3R strategy, however, offers an easier and more intensive reading way of handling literature material.

The SQ3R has come to my aid especially in history classes. I have come to realise that my methods of reading may have contributed to the low grades in the subject.
