How Starbuck is performing

Many observers feel that Starbuck is one of the entrepreneurial success stories as it moved from a mere coffee store to a leading world supplier of coffee drinks. However, this company has not been experiencing growth at all times as the retiring of Howard Schultz from the company’s CEO position in 2000 led to the flagging of its performance. By 2007 the company’s stocks were trading at low prices and some of its retail shops were being closed. However in 2008 after the board’s request, Schultz returned to the company as the CEO and its performance has been rising ever since (Verbeke, 2013).
