The four major risks identified by Stephen Brookfield are impostership, cultural suicide, lost innocence, and incremental fluctuation. Impostership refers to a situation where a student lacks self confidence after joining higher learning institution. Cultural suicide is a feeling of disloyalty when friends and family find the students transforming as a critical thinker in the process of learning. Lost innocence refers to the frustration learners feel after coming to know the multi-faceted and complex state of analysis in tertiary level (Bulman & Schutz, 2013).
