Social stratification can be defined as the type of differentiation for classifying society members into socio-economic strata according to their income, occupation, social status and wealth, or on the derived power. The modern Western society displays stratification in three different social classes; lower class, upper class, and middle class. Social stratification is done using different development approaches such as the caste and the slavery systems.
