Students will explore an historical epoch of their chosen region/country in order to understand its influence on the cultural identity of the place. The summative paper will relate both the history of a given period that was instrumental in forming a national/regional identity as well as identities, hegemonies, ideologies as they have evolved in the history of cultural studies in the region.
