Part 1 – Paper 1 Topic Selection – Please ensure that a case high profile, contemporary criminal case is selected for this assignment.

You will select a high profile, contemporary criminal case of your choosing and submit it to your instructor for approval. The essence of this assignment is to address the issues, legal considerations, and concepts that arise from initial investigation through adjudication of the case.

The case must incorporate all aspects of the criminal justice system—from investigation, to arrest, evidence, court proceedings, and eventually sentencing.

Compose your work in a .doc or .docx file type using a word processor (such as Microsoft Word, etc.) and save it frequently to your computer. For those assignments that are not written essays and require uploading images or PowerPoint slides, please follow uploading guidelines provided by your instructor.

Part 2 – Paper 1 Annotated Bibliography

Submit an annotated bibliography upon which your first paper is to be based. This will act as the foundation of your research and guide your paper. Annotated bibliographies also gather the reference materials and help summarize the articles, books, etc. you will be using in your case analysis.
