Health Problem-Non Communicable Disease
A Non- Communicable Disease/chronic condition is a health issue affecting most people in the community in distinct ways. It is a persistent illness or condition that its impacts show from time to time (long-lasting). An illness is termed chronic if its course takes three months or more. Non-communicable diseases/ chronic illness (cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, cancer and chronic respiratory) is responsible for 68% of mortality rate globally. Various organizations are working to build a better world for every person where every individual has a chance for healthy life, exempted from effects of Non- Communicable Diseases (social stigma, sufferings, and death) that can be prevented (Nordqvist, 2011). These organizations include T1International, International Diabetes Federation, Caritas, NCD Free, and NCD Alliance among others.
Definitions, Causes and Prevention Measures
Even though incurable, the non-communicable diseases can be managed and controlled with medical treatment. According to WHO (World Health Organization) report, NCDs is causing progressive deaths of people hence undermining economic and social development globally which can be prevented by implementation of existing measures with more stamina. These measures include healthy eating habits; reducing the amount of alcohol intake; enforcement of stricter anti-tobacco rules; improving and advancing medical care systems, exercising; lowering salt intake and promoting actions of health authorities. Most NCDs are associated with lack of exercise, abuse of alcohol, unhealthy habits of eating and smoking. Factors that increase the probability of most NCDs are sex, physical inactivity, individual background, genetic, smoking habits, age (NCDs affects older people mostly above 70 years) and individuals environment (pollution) (Nordqvist, 2011).
Organizations against NCD
WHO action plans of 2008-2013 included ways to control and prevent NCDs in its Global strategy. It was made official by the World Health Assembly in 2008. The action plan describes at length how to advance the surveillance of NDCs, improve the policies of health authorities against NCDs and how countries can protect themselves from the epidemics’ of NCDs.
According to the NCD Alliance. (2017), NCD alliance in conjunction with many (2,000) societal civil organizations situated in at least 170 countries, is dedicated to advancing and improving NCD control and prevention operations globally. It focuses on prevention opportunities, management of the diseases, leads various initiatives’ and tailors in-depth programs to create the society of civil society to maximize progress delivery in controlling and preventing NCD. NCD Alliance is a full-pledged NGO founded in 2009. It has a wide global network including national and global NGOs, research and academic institutions, private partner’s, professional and scientific associations and other dedicated peoples.

In the recent past, many organizations have come up to try and address these diseases so as to improve the welfare of people in the society and increase their productivity through increasing their life.
