ASSIGNMENT DESCRIPTION

In light of the key role that interpersonal victimization plays in the lives of troubled girls and women, it is important to examine the impact that past trauma can have on female offending. Studies have shown that the creation of a trauma-informed environment in correctional settings can help former female offenders lead more productive and healthier lives.

Prepare a 3-page paper, citing a minimum of two academically verified references, describing the ways in which the typical modern correctional system violates the principles of a trauma-informed approach. Explain the positive impact trauma-informed care programs have on female offenders.
