    • I always tend to see situations as a human being- not men or women. That helped me to step out of my gender bias. As a manager there are circumstances when employees might share personal situations- family deaths, sickness, depression, etc. those situations regardless of gender are key moments when a leader might need to show empathy while showing the some emotions. I think in those cases the lack of emotions might be perceived by the employee or colleague as not being understood or something else.

    1. I think in situations where there is a large group of people that is not your “safe place”. in every team I have been, as I get to know my colleagues better- I can identify the people that I can “trust” or I might feel safe sharing some emotions. There are circumstances where you have a person that you don’t get along very well, in that case you have to be careful of your emotions because you might say things that you regret or change your body language.
  2. In both of these circumstances, would your advice be the same to a male leader as to a female leader? Why or why not?
    1. Yes- as mentioned before- my approach is to think about others as human beings first.
