The objective of this paper is to allow you to convey how your own experiences have contributed to your life-span perspective. It is your opportunity to relate the course material to your personal experiences and get a feel for how developmental theories and knowledge apply to every individual.

Using the ‘Processes of Development’ described in the text, along with one of the theories described in Chapter one, you are expected to explore a major event in your life, or the life event of someone whose experience(s) you are particularly familiar with. This event needs to have occurred either during adolescence or before, in an effort to have a span of time to assess the developmental changes that have occurred and the impact it has made over time.
