Summary:
A 36-year-old female presents to her general practitioner (GP) as she has noticed her menstrual cycle has become irregular over the past 6 months. She has performed multiple home-pregnancy tests, all of which have been negative. In addition to her irregular cycles, she complains of a headache and over the past two weeks, feels as though her vision is disturbed. On further questioning, she explains that her vision is not blurred; the GP finds bitemproal hemianopia on examination. She has a recent diagnosis of hypothyroidism, but no other medical history of note. She takes levothyroxine daily. She does not take any other medications or over the counter remedies. She is not on the oral contraceptive pill. Bloods are sent and she is found to have a raised prolactin level.
