Your review should:
Provide an overview of the literature in the field – this survey must be selective and critical (not merely descriptive).
Demonstrate an understanding of the main issues and problems in your chosen area.
Show how the debates and findings have influenced an aspect of language testing.
Indicate that you have given some thought to these issues and problems. You will be expected to give your own reasoned views. These views should be supported by arguments and evidence from your reading and/or your experience.
Format & Submission

Thanks for sharing your ideas for your assignment. This looks like a sensible structure. I wonder, however, how distinct sections 2 (history) & 3 (theories) would be? Might this not logically be combined into one section? Your current section 4 (issues for teaching) is meaningful, but make sure that it doesn’t take over the entire assignment. The focus should primarily be on the nature of grammar and implications for testing.
